What we see in Samuel is the forming of Israel. The Sinai Covenant is where we have tribes and their God - stamp of God. It is God who brings in this new order. We have the constant voice of about trust. The rise and fall of Saul - the first Adam. The Adam in Genesis.
The rise of David. He brought the arch of the desert into the city. There is a tension between God and the City. How is God asking us to act and to organize ourselves? One way of looking at this is that one view is there is only one God the desert and trust is needed. Desire for kingship. Enter into civilization where you have stability. The Lord will rule over you.
With the fall of Saul and the rise of David we notice stories where Saul falls from God in his trust issues. Moving historically from Egypt is one. How does Israel use Convenant language? Presents Israel as new David. What do they do with the new covenants? Johnathon is enlisting into his field of activity.
